We are planning to make a trip to winterton nl august or September 2017. I would like to track down any of my mother's still living relatives in the area. My mom was a Downey and her father and mom were Simon Percy and Beatrice. Simon had a very small general store right beside the main road not too far from the government wharf. If anyone one reads this and knows anything of possible relatives I would like to hear from them. See you later this year.

I was born and raised in Winterton. Many fond memories of growing up there. I am going home for a visit this august and see how the place has changed and what has remained the same. Hopefully see some people I've not seen in years. My parents and grand parents and young brother are buried there. Cant wait for the visit. And a great job on the site. Brings back memories. See You all in August. :D :)

I have never been to Winterton or Newfoundland but grew up hearing glorious stories of Winterton and the surrounding area. My grandfather was a Kelland born in Winterton (Scilly Cove). His foreparents marriage was the first recorded in Scilly Cove. Are there still Kellands living in the town?
