Maritime Heritage of Winterton
The town of Winterton has a rich maritime heritage of fishing. Winterton (known as Scilly Cove) was first settled in the 1600ís. The first known census was taken in 1675. At that time, there were three planters, forty servants and eight boats recorded in the town. [More Details]

Take time to explore the beautiful hiking trails of Winterton.

There are 2 hiking trails in Winterton.

Lookout Trail is accessible from Outside Pond Park. A natural yet well-marked pathway leads to panaramic views of Winterton surrounded by hills and ponds. Keep your eyes and ears open for moose.

Sugarloaf Trail overlooks Trinity Bay. This trail is well known for it's fabulous view of whales, icebergs, birds and boats.
